Below are two download links to the condensed English version Help File that I wrote on Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7: For the newer version Paint Shop Pro 8, click on the buttons above.

One download link is a Win Help version as supplied with many programmes - not supported in Microsoft Vista Windows. This works in earlier Microsoft Windows versions Win3.1, Win 95, Win98X, 2000 and XP.  The other is the new CHM Htm/Html type version: supported in all Microsoft Windows versions.

My Help files explain the options that I think are major items for use and are designed for beginners.

Download size for both versions is approximately 3 MB.

(At the moment only English versions exist. If someone wants to translate them into other languages that would be very nice indeed; feel free to do so. Unfortunately, I can't pay for this and it would have to be done voluntary.

Paint Shop Pro is a wonderful user friendly programme to use full of useful tools.

The following applies to all versions of my help files, and whatever you download from my website.

Emergency Registry Repair Files

Emergency Registry Repair Files: Download these files and Save them carefully for a Rainy Day!

^{Are you having the problem with installing Microsoft Windows XP Pro or Home updates after downloading them?}

^{The problem occurs when you use your Windows XP Setup disk to repair Windows instead of undertaking a clean-fresh installation: Although the files are on the Hard Disk, because of the new 2007 changes at Microsoft Update the file that installs them is not registered in the Registry. I followed instructions at Windows Secrets who discussed the problem.}

^{I have created two files ApplyUpdats.com and Applyupdats.bat you can download them by left clicking the blue button below. These files worked for me and corrected the problem.}

^{Downloading these files means that you agree to my conditions set out below.}

^{To correct the problem, do the following:}

^{1. Left click on the blue download button and Save them to one folder of your choice.}

^{2. Extracting the files.}

The opened ApplyUpdats.bat file.

^{3. In the extracted folder, Left click on both the two files: ApplyUpdats.com and ApplyUpdats.bat repeating the procedure for both files; you will see a black screen with the necessary registry files flash on your screen. You must press Enter each time that a registry entry appears on your screen in the list.}

^{4. Exit (close) the files as you would do normally and restart your computer then check to see that you can install the Microsoft Security updates you downloaded, or want to download.}

^{You should also download and install the latest Windows 4.5 Redistributable (left click the download button and save it to desktop.}

^{It can be downloaded from Microsoft Updates:new computer programmes like Microsoft Office 2007 may need this installer to install them. Restart your computer after installation.}

Help file style books are excellent for a variety of purposes, e.g. a photo album, or where you want the reader to jump from subject to another. They don't have to be just user manuals, they are a fun way of getting over information: I have seen them used for listing food recipes, catalogues, limericks and jokes.
